HP LaserJet 1100 Product Family - Cleaning and Changing the Pickup Roller

Clean or change the pickup roller if the printer is experiencing paper feed issues, such as no picks or multiple sheets feed through. Instructions for cleaning and replacing the pickup roller are below.

Cleaning the pickup roller

  1. Unplug the power cord from the printer, and then allow the printer to cool.

WARNING: Alcohol is flammable. Keep the alcohol and cloth away from open flame. Allow alcohol to dry completely before closing the printer and plugging in the power cord.
NOTE: In certain areas of California, air pollution control regulations restrict the use of liquid Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) as a cleaning agent. In those areas of California, please disregard the previous recommendations and use a dry, lint-free cloth. The cloth may be moistened with water if desired.
