Blinking Lights on the HP Deskjet 6100 Printer Series
The HP Deskjet 6122 and 6127 have four buttons and three lights on the front panel (see Figure 1). Flashing lights on the printer indicate the status of the printer. This document explains what the flashing lights mean.
The front panel
On the front panel of the printer there are three round buttons and a print-cartridge shaped indicator with a light (see Figure 1).

Print cartridge light is flashing
When the print cartridge light is on or flashing, check the following things listed below.
The top cover
The top cover of the printer may be open. Close the top cover.
The print cartridges
Verify that the proper print cartridges are installed.
Ensure the proper installation of the cartridges and that they are not empty.
Resume light is flashing
When the resume light is flashing, there may be a problem with the paper. Check for the following conditions.
Out of paper
Refill the in tray or in the lower tray, then press the Resume button.
If the printer is not out of paper, it may have a paper jam. Remove paper from the in trays and the out tray. Open the lid and look for any pieces of paper or labels (if using labels) that may be stuck in the printer.
The printer may be ready to print the second side of a two-sided document. Follow the on-screen instructions for printing a two-sided document. They will appear when manually printing a two-sided document. After completing the instructions, press Resume.
Power light is flashing
When the power light is flashing the printer is preparing to print. The power light stops flashing when the printer has received the data while it is printing.
All the lights are flashing
When all the lights are flashing, the printer may need to be restarted.
