HP Photosmart 8200 Series Printers - Incorrect Ink Cartridge

Issue

After new ink cartridges are installed, the printer will not print and the following message appears on the printer color graphics display:

Incorrect Ink Cartridge(s)

Solution

Make sure you are not using introductory cartridges incorrectly. Introductory cartridges come with the printer and carry special ink formulations intended for printer initialization. During initialization, inks in the introductory cartridges mix with inks in the printer to create a normal ink formulation. After initialization, introductory cartridges can be used in any compatible printer. However, if introductory cartridges that have not been through initialization are installed in a printer that has already been initialized, the printer cannot print.
