This document is provided to assist in removing and replacing the RTC battery for the HP EliteBook 2530p Notebook PC.

NOTE: Part numbers are subject to change.

The replacement part number will vary depending on the RTC battery that is being replaced. If a part is listed as "Yes" under "Requires Return" then the defective part needs to be returned to HP. Click here for more information on returning parts to HP .

  2. Remove the battery. Click here for instructions on removing the battery .

  3. Remove the keyboard. Click here for instructions on removing the keyboard .

  4. Use a small, flat-bladed tool to flip the RTC battery out of the socket on the system board.

RTC battery replacement

  1. With the positive (+) side facing up, insert and press the RTC battery onto the socket on the system board.
