Introduction to event list error messages

This document contains event list error messages recorded in the Integrated Management Log (IML), which can be viewed through different tools. The format of the list is different when viewed through different tools. An example of the format of an event as displayed on the Integrated Management Display (IMD) follows:

Event list error messages

NOTE: This listing of error messages provides information for multiple servers. Some information may not apply to the server you are troubleshooting. Refer to the server documentation for information on procedures, hardware options, software tools, and operating systems supported by the server.
NOTE: The error messages in this section may be worded slightly different than as displayed by the server.
A CPU Power Module
Error Message:

Action:
CAUTION: Only authorized technicians trained by HP should attempt to remove the system board. If you believe the system board requires replacement, contact HP Technical Support before proceeding.
Replace the power module. In the case of an embedded power module, replace the system board.
ASR Lockup Detected

Action:
Examine the IML ("Integrated Management Log") to determine the cause of the lockup. For more information, refer to the HP ROM-Based Setup Utility User Guide on the server Documentation CD or the SmartStart Support and Documents website (http://www.hp.com/support/smartstart/documentation).

HP BladeSystem p-Class infrastructure error codes

The server blade management modules and power management modules contain service ports that enable service personnel to gather fault information. To gather the fault information perform the following:
  1. Connect to the service port.
  2. Access the system diagnostics.
