HP Notebook PCs - Some Function Keys or Keyboard Shortcuts Do Not Work Correctly with Windows 7

This document contains information about PCs with the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.

Special function keys trigger the desired action twice

When using the special function keys in Windows 7 the corresponding action may be triggered twice. For example, when pressing the Fn+F6 keys to toggle the mute on the computer, the sound will mute and then unmute. Or when pressing the FN+F3 keys to launch the default Internet browser, two browser windows will open.

Microsoft Hotfix resolves the issue

To resolve this problem and for more information see the following Microsoft article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975741 Non-HP site (in English).

HP is currently testing a fix that will be available for download soon at the Driver and Download page for your model.
