Loading Paper and Envelopes for the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fn and CM1415fnw Color Multifunction Printers

Introduction

This document describes how to load paper and envelopes into tray 1. Use tray 1 to print up to 10 envelopes or up to 150 sheets paper.

Loading paper in tray 1

Follow these steps to load paper in the product:

  1. Open tray 1.

  2. Slide the paper guides to their outermost positions.

  3. Insert paper into tray 1 with the top edge at the back of tray and the print side facing up.

  4. Slide the paper guides inward to fit snugly against the paper.

  5. Close tray 1.

Loading envelopes in tray 1

Before loading and printing on envelopes, review the following guidelines.

Envelope guidelines

  • Use envelopes recommended only for laser printers.

  • Use envelopes with peel-off adhesive strips that are approved for use in laser printers.

  • Use envelopes with seams extending to the corners.

  • Do not use envelopes with clasps, snaps, windows, coated linings, self-stick adhesives, or other synthetic materials that are susceptible to heat.

  • Do not use envelopes that are wrinkled, nicked, stuck together, or otherwise damaged.

  • Do not use self-stick adhesives or other synthetic materials.

Loading envelopes

Follow these steps to load envelopes in the product:

  1. Open tray 1.

  2. Slide out the paper guides.

  3. Load envelopes with the print side facing up and the stamp end toward the back of the tray.

  4. Slide in the paper guides to fit snugly against the envelopes.

  5. Insert the paper tray into the product.
