Loading Paper and Envelopes for HP Photosmart 5510 e-All-in-One Printer Series

Introduction

This document provides instructions for loading plain paper, photo paper, and envelopes. For a list of the paper types that the product supports, go to the Product Specifications document (c02907978) on the HP Web site.

Load plain paper

Use these steps to load U.S. letter or A4 size paper in the product.

  1. If the paper tray door is closed, open the paper tray door, and then pull out the paper tray.

  2. Slide the paper width guides to their outermost positions.

  3. Load a stack of plain paper into the tray with the short edge facing toward the product and the print side down (if the paper has a print side). Push the stack into the tray until it stops.

  4. Slide the paper width guides until they rest against the edges of the paper.

  5. Close the paper tray, and then pull open and lift the paper tray extender until it is fully extended.

Load photo paper

Follow these steps to load photo paper in the product.

  1. Open the paper tray door, pull out the paper tray, and then slide the paper width guides to their outermost positions.

  2. Load a stack of photo paper into the tray, with the short edge facing toward the product and the print side down. Push the stack into the tray until it stops.

  3. Slide the paper width guides in until they rest against the edges of the paper.

  4. Close the paper tray, and then open the paper tray extender.

Load envelopes

Follow these steps to load one or more envelopes in the tray.

NOTE: Do not use shiny or embossed envelopes or envelopes that have clasps or windows.

  1. Open the paper tray door, pull out the paper tray, and then slide the paper width guides to their outermost positions.

  2. Load one or more envelopes into the middle of the tray, with the flaps on the left and facing up.

  3. Adjust the paper width guide so that it rests against the stack of envelopes.

  4. Close the paper tray, and then open the paper tray extender.
