DESCRIPTION

When attempting to install the following software products from HP Insight Software Version 6.3 (or earlier) on a system running Internet Explorer 9 (IE9), the installation will fail to complete and then display "This program cannot display the webpage:"

  • HP Insight Control Version 6.3 (or earlier)
  • HP Insight Dynamics Version 6.3 (or earlier)
  • HP Systems Insight Manager Version 6.3 (or earlier)
  • HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager Version 6.3 (or earlier)

SCOPE

Any HP ProLiant server running Windows Server 2008 and Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) while installing HP Insight Software Version 6.3 (or earlier).

RESOLUTION

HP Insight Software Version 6.3 (or earlier) is not supported with Internet Explorer 9 (IE9). A future version will support IE9.

As a workaround, uninstall IE9 before attempting to install any software from Insight Software Version 6.3 (or earlier). Uninstalling IE9 will automatically restore the previous version of Internet Explorer.

To uninstall Internet Explorer 9, perform the following steps:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Enter "Programs and Features" in the search box and then click View installed updates in the left pane.
  3. Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.
  4. Right-click on Windows Internet Explorer 9.
  5. Click Uninstall and then when prompted click Yes.
  6. Click on Restart now to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9 and to restore the previous version of Internet Explorer.
