Replacing Cartridges for HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275

Introduction

This document contains steps to replace old print cartridges with new ones.

Replacing print cartridges

Follow these steps to make sure that the new print cartridge is compatible with your HP product, and then replace the old print cartridge.

Step one: Check print cartridge compatibility

Before unpacking a new print cartridge, make sure that it is compatible with your HP product.

To purchase cartridges or check cartridge compatibility for your printer, go to HP Home & Home Office Store (US only), and then click Ink Toner & Paper.

If you are located outside of the US, follow these steps to purchase cartridges using HP SureSupply.

  1. Go to HP SureSupply .

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and make sure that the country/region location is correct.

Genuine HP cartridges can also be purchased from other retailers.

Which cartridges you use might depend on your country/region. Follow these steps to purchase cartridges or check cartridge compatibility for your printer using HP SureSupply.

  1. Go to HP SureSupply .

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and make sure that the country/region location is correct.

NOTE: For the United States only, go to the HP Home & Home Office Store .

Genuine HP cartridges can also be purchased from other retailers.

Step two: Replace a print cartridge

Follow these steps to replace the print cartridges.

  1. Press the Power button () to turn on the product.

  2. On the product control panel, touch the Supplies icon (). The Supplies Status screen opens.

  3. Touch Cartridge Rotate to select a print cartridge. A message indicates the selected print cartridge.

    CAUTION: Wait until the rotation sounds stop before you proceed.
  4. Raise the camera arm to the fully open position.

  5. Remove the capture stage, and then set it aside.

  6. Open the print cartridge door.

  7. Grasp the handle on the print cartridge, and then pull the print cartridge straight out to remove it.

  8. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging.

  9. Place the old print cartridge in the bag and box for recycling.

  10. Grasp both sides of the print cartridge. Gently rock the print cartridge from front to back to distribute the toner evenly.

  11. Grasp the print cartridge by the center handle, and then remove the plastic shield.

    NOTE: Do not touch the print cartridge roller. Fingerprints on the roller can cause print quality issues.
  12. Remove any tape from the print cartridge, and then place the tape in the recycle box with the old print cartridge.

  13. Grasp the print cartridge by the center handle, and then insert the print cartridge into the correct slot.

    TIP
    Look for color-coded icons on the print cartridge slot to insert the print cartridge in the correct slot.
  14. Close the print cartridge door.

    After you close the print cartridge door, the control panel displays the 'Calibrating' message. Wait until the product is idle and silent before you proceed.

    NOTE: If you need to replace another print cartridge, you must close the print cartridge door before touching the Cartridge Rotate button again.
  15. If you need to replace other print cartridges, touch the Supplies icon () again, and then select the next print cartridge.

  16. Touch Cartridge Rotate to rotate the carousel to the next print cartridge, and then repeat the previous steps to replace the print cartridge.

    CAUTION: Wait until the rotation sounds stop before you open the print cartridge door each time.
  17. Reinstall the capture stage.
