DESCRIPTION

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1 Xen may stop responding when installing a virtual guest, after upgrading to the required 2.6.32.36 errata kernel to work around the kernel panic documented in the Customer Advisory (Revision) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1- Linux Will Kernel Panic When Installing on an HP ProLiant Server With an AMD Opteron or 4200-series Processor or AMD Opteron 6200-Series Processor , located at the following URL: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c03035647

SCOPE

Any HP ProLiant server with an AMD Opteron or 4200-series processor or AMD Opteron 6200-series processor after upgrading to the required 2.6.32.36 errata kernel and attempting an installation of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1.

RESOLUTION

This does not occur with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2.

Customers running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1 Xen should update to the kernel errata 2.6.32.46-0.3.1 to avoid the server becoming unresponsive.
