HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer - Printing from an Apple or Android Mobile Device with HP Wireless Direct

Introduction

If you want to print wirelessly from your Apple or Android mobile device, you can use HP wireless direct printing.

HP wireless direct printing is a feature that allows you to print directly to your HP printer without a network, using a direct peer to peer wireless connection. The instructions in this document provide steps to print with wireless direct printing using Apple's AirPrint or the HP ePrint mobile app.

Printing with HP wireless direct

Follow these steps to print from your mobile device using wireless direct. Your HP printer does not need to be on a wireless network.

Step one: Turn on HP wireless direct

Use the following steps to turn on the HP wireless direct feature.

  1. Print a Network Configuration Page to identify the printer IP address.

    On the control panel, press and hold the Cancel () button until the Ready () light starts to blink, and then release the button. The test page prints.

  2. Enter the printer IP address into the address line of your Web browser. The Embedded Web Server (EWS) screen displays.

  3. Click the Networking tab.

  4. Click Wireless Direct Setup.

  5. Select the check box next to Wireless Direct Printing Name (SSID), and then enter the network name (SSID) in the field.

    NOTE: To find the network name (SSID), click the Wireless Configuration menu from the Networking tab.
  6. Click Apply. The IP address of the mobile device displays on the Networking tab.

Step two: Print from your mobile device

Choose one of the following options to print from your mobile device.
