Loading Paper, Cards, and Envelopes for HP Officejet Pro 8000 Printer Series

Introduction

This document provides instructions for loading plain paper and specialty paper such as card stock, envelopes, photo paper, and labels.

Load plain paper

Follow these steps to load plain paper.

Load plain paper in Tray 1

  1. Lift the output tray.

  2. Load plain white paper print-side down in the center of the tray.

    NOTE: Do not load paper while the printer is printing.
  3. Make sure the stack of paper is not higher than the solid red line on the paper stack guide located on the side of the tray.

  4. Slide the paper width guides so that they rest gently against the paper, and then lower the output tray.

  5. Pull out the extension on the output tray.

Load plain paper in Tray 2

NOTE: Tray 2 supports only plain white letter or A4 paper. Do not load any other paper in Tray 2.
  1. Grasp Tray 2 and slide it toward you, away from the printer.

  2. Load plain white paper print-side down in the center of the tray.

    NOTE: Do not load paper while the printer is printing.
  3. Make sure the stack of paper is not higher than the solid red line on the paper stack guide located on the side of the tray.

  4. Slide the paper width guides so that they rest gently against the paper, and then slide Tray 2 back into the printer.

  5. Pull out the extension on the output tray.

Load specialty paper

Before proceeding, click here to view the paper specifications for your printer to make sure that your printer supports the size, type, and weight of the paper that you want to print.

NOTE: Tray 2 supports only plain white letter or A4 paper. Do not load any other paper in Tray 2.

Follow these steps to load specialty paper such as card stock, envelopes, photo paper, or labels.

  1. Lift the output tray.

  2. Load the cards, photo paper, or envelopes print-side down in the center of the tray.

  3. Make sure the stack of paper is not higher than the dotted red line on the paper stack guide located on the side of the tray.

  4. Slide the paper width guides so that they rest gently against the paper, and then lower the output tray.
