The system board contains three switchbanks that may need to be modified to set configuration or to trigger special functions. These switches can cause problems if they are not correctly set. When adding or removing a component or changing a security feature, the server must be reconfigured to recognize these changes. If the system configuration is incorrect, the server may not work properly, and error messages may be prompted on the screen.

CAUTION: Reserved switches are provided for use by HP authorized service providers only and should not be changed from the indicated default settings.

The following subsections provide reference information about setting the system board switches, which is part of the re-configuration process, along with running the ROM-Based Setup Utility (RBSU).

SW3 - Debug LED Switch Settings

The Debug LED switch is a four-position switch bank used for system maintenance. S1 and S2 switches function as a logical pair. There are four possible On/Off switch combinations for S1 and S2 switches. The default positions for all switches on this switch bank are Off. The S3 and S4 switches are Reserved and they are not modified by the user.
