HP Neoware Thin Clients - Introduction - HP Neoware Thin ClientsThis guide provides information about the following HP Neoware thin client models:
Information provided includes a feature list, components, and operating system specifications. This guide also provides decoding information about HP Neoware part numbers, summarizes model features, lists available models, provides flash and RAM information, and provides detailed information about operating systems. Naming convention for HP and HP Neoware thin clientsAll of the HP Neoware models produced for shipment following December 1, 2007 will use a new HP standard for product identification SKU decoding. The lettering along the top of the table Promo t5725 LNX A3 NX1500 KE AA0 is an example of the SKU format that will be used on the thin clients.
Serial number decodingThe scheme for serial numbers is (Year)(Month)(last 6 digits of the MAC address). For example, 604578F3F was built during April 2006 and the last six digits of the MAC are 57-8F-3F. Neoware normally looks up warranty entitlement in their SNAP database; however, the you can also estimate this by determining the manufacture date and adding 3 months channel/distribution time.
Decoding Neoware legacy part numbersThe following information indicates how to decode a Neoware part number. Neoware part numbers use the following format:
In this example, “DD” indicates the P690” product line, “A3” indicates that it has a custom version of Windows XPe, and “KE” indicates that it has 512MB flash and 512MB RAM. The Bcom code (the “CA” code) is CA22. This indicates that it is an e14 V4 thin client.
BL-03-KD corresponds to an E100 with a P640 motherboard running a standard Windows XP image, 512 MB of Flash memory, and 256 MB of RAM. Customized units or "specials" will have letters A-Z in the OS designation (for example, BL-A3-KD). Model number DC-03-KE (Bcom number DC). The DC indicates that this is an E90 unit with the newer V4 hardware. The 03 indicates the unit is running Windows XPe. The KE indicates the unit has 512 MB of flash and 512 MB of RAM.
