  2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

Silent Installation

FIXES:

  • Resolves issue with Hood Sensor not reporting an error if an Administrator password is set in F10 Setup.
  • Resolves issue with some PCI - Cardbus bridge cards not loading the "Generic Cardbus Controller," which resulted in the driver for the controller having an error condition in Windows XP.
  • Corrects an issue with USB 2.0 devices being visible in the OS when connected to the front USB ports even though the front USB ports have been disabled or hidden in F10 Setup.
  • Corrects BIOS F10 Setup's Italian Storage Menu for Hard Drives, which was not displaying the complete text.
  • Updates PXE ROM to version 6.3.0. This ROM fixed a PXE boot failure that occurred with some PXE servers where the "DHCP boot filename" option (OPTION 67)was manually added. Also the base code was fixed so that the provided length field file name strings are used to nullify the filename that is used for TFTP/MTFTP download.

Version:2.44 Rev. A (14 Aug 2008)
Version:2.43 A (16 Aug 2004)
Enhancements
  • Adds large-scale deployment capabilities for systems with an embedded security device (TPM) installed.
  • Installs the latest microcode updates for the F29, F33, and F34 processor steppings of the Intel Pentium 4 processor. NOTE: To determine processor stepping, access the System Information selection from the File menu of F10 BIOS Setup utility.

Version:2.4 (18 May 2004)
Fixes
  • Adds new VBIOS Version 3241 to resolve a DVI issue that can occur during startup with dual monitors when using a DVI add-in card and the internal graphics controller.
Enhancements
  • Adds "Limit CPUID Maximum Value to 3" option in F10 Setup. This feature allows users to load Windows NT on systems with newer processors. This option will not be displayed if the processor does not support this feature.

Version:2.18 (2 Feb 2004)
Fixes
  • Resolves potential system lockup when the F10 Setup option "Processor Cache" is set to Disable.
  • Resolves issue with F10 Setup Language Menu forgetting the last used language selection after performing a "Save Changes & Exit" command.
Enhancements
  • Adds support for new Pentium 4 processor models with 90nm technology.
  • Adds support for some Japanese specific keys on USB keyboards.
  • Hyperthreading Enable/Disable in F10 BIOS Setup will remain in its current state when a "Set Defaults & Exit" is executed from the F10 Setup Main menu. This setting is preserved because it is best not to disable HT once the multiprocessor version of the OS is installed.
  • Updates memory support to allow for the proper operation of 1GB PC3200 (DDR400) memory modules.
  • Updates the F1 help for "BIOS Wake Up" option in F10 Setup to better reflect the constraints of this feature. The system must be powered down from an ACPI compliant OS in order for this option to work. Also, this option only works when the system is powered off. If the system is in standby or hibernation it will not wake.

Version:2.04 A (7 Oct 2003)
Fixes
Enhancements
  • Installs the latest microcode updates for the F24, F27, and F29 processor steppings of the Intel Pentium IV processor. Your processor stepping can be determined by accessing the System Information selection from the File menu of F10 BIOS Setup.
  • Hides serial port 2 from legacy operating systems if serial port 2 option is not installed.
  • Adds support for soft power-down in Windows NT 4.0. This change works in conjunction with the "Compaq Power Management Extensions for Windows NT 4.0" software that is located at www.hp.com.
  • Adds F-10 Setup menu for "BIOS Wakeup" option. This option allows the user to set up a specific time and the days that the system will wake up from the soft off state (S5 sleep state).
  • Adds additional text to better describe consequences if security device reset, for the TPM, is selected.
  • Adds F10 Setup options for disabling/enabling each IDE (PATA) channel.
  • Adds code to ensure the SATA 1 device DMA capabilities reported to the operating system reflect the currently selected data transfer mode when "SATA Configuration" is set to "Replace Primary IDE Controller" in F10 Setup.
  • Adds a new F10 feature that allows the user the ability to adjust the minimum fan speed to higher values. The fan controller still works normally and will adjust the fans to higher speeds if required by temperature.
  • Adds support for USB CD-ROM boot. The CD-ROM drive must support this functionality in order for this to work correctly.

Version:1.11 (14 Jul 2003)
Fixes
  • Corrects a timing issue in the memory subsystem which in some systems could exhibit distorted video, lockups, reboots, or potential data loss. This change improves the memory timing margins for PC2100/DDR266 and PC2700/DDR333 configurations and corrects the symptoms listed above. These symptoms have been observed on systems configured with 512MB PC2700 memory. Other memory configurations could be affected; however, this issue does not affect systems with PC3200/DDR400 memory configurations.
